We're moving again!

And how fitting as I (miltownkid) just changed apartments this weekend as well. I'm currently uploading a video briefly explaining the move, but allow me to get it down in writing as well.

Why All The Moves?

Let me answer this question first. What it all boils down to is me trying to find the best solution to match the resources I have available to me and the community I was to build. I have a lot of experience with regular dicussion forums, but these new "social networking" communities are different. People what to have a more customizable profile than what is usually available on traditional web forums. I do as well (so I can look at people profiles).

It is this reason that sparked the move from the [MyDeadXbox Forums] to the [MyDeadXbox Ning].

Now Ning has really nice features for profile building and blog posting, but I thought they were a little lacking in the discussing area (I didn't like the layout and feel). That wasn't a major problem, but last week while I was looking for information about how to make the Ning more sexy I ran into this: [Ning Shuts Down Premium Developer WidgetLaboratory]. Upon investigating it further, I did not like the looks of what went down. I then decided to look into WidgetLaboraty's story and what they were up to. That's when I ran into SocialGO.

I then [made a post on the WidgetLaboratory forums] explaining what has been going on with me and what I was looking for and got reply almost instantly. Since the MyDeadXbox community is so new, I thought it would be a good idea to test out SocialGo's platform with the help of the Evil Genius (him being a gamer and all :) ).

I think the Evil G would be OK with me sharing what he wrote in a message on his site:

"We'd like to suggest to you that we want to help you directly with building your site and making it a success. A guy with your personality and talent can really go "viral", and thereby demonstrate how much power is contained in SocialGO and the WidgetLaboratory products.

Plus, we are all active gamers... so we know just what kind of fanatics hang with our crowd ;-)"

So... We would have support in building an awesome gaming community! If you have any questions or whatnot, throw'em in the comments. I promise that we won't be moving again for a long time!
